Which Bride Are You?

The most exciting part of a wedding for me has to be the dress! which type of bride will they be? minimalistic, bohemian, fashion forward or classic.

Bohemian

The bohemian bride to me screams, draped dresses, Column silhouette, amazing beading and ornate accessories.

Minimalist Bride

Clean, sharp lines and very fuss free, is a must for this bride.

Classic

Romantic, floor length, full fairy tale skirts is a classic brides dream.

Fashion Forward

The avant-garde bride, loves to make a statement, matalic shoes, shulpural gowns.

Bridal Hair Do's

The photo's of your wedding day will be on show for ever and what you don't want is to look back in horror and say " what did I do to my hair"?

So I have put together my top 10 doe's, to help make sure the guests will be looking you , thinking how beautiful you look, and not wow!!!!!!! ummmmmmm your hairs is ummmmmm different moment.

1. Dont forget you vail, tiara, combs.
Please think about your head piece, take as much with you to the hair practice sessions, to check they compliment each other and will this hold for the whole day and evening.

If you are lucky to have this in your budget, book the stylist to stay with you through out to help deal with touch ups. If like me you don't take this option, ask your stylist for just in case tips.

2. Do not leave things to the last minuite
Do book your hair cut a month before, this will make sure the style works. Do not, repeat do not have your hair cut a day or two before.

3. Be fussy
Be picky when choosing your hairstylist, if your hair dresses does not really often do wedding hairstyles, ask for him or her to recommend someone who does.

Go with someone you trust fully, ask friends, family etc for recommendation.

4. Not a time to compete with Madonna
I would never advise anyone to go for a dramatic hair colour change, you want to look an enhanced version of yourself, not someone different.

5. Try a variety
Do try a few different styles, as you did when choosing your dress.

6. Do remember you dress
Your hair should compliment your dress, for example you have choosen a vintage inspired dress, then stay within the theme, as this will pull the look all togeather.

7. Do Try well ahead
Bridal hair looks amazing short or long, however if you wish for long hair on your big day, then do, go for tempory hair clip ins, but order well in advance, so you can make sure the colour matches and you never know your stylist if a friend, will cut them to make the whole style look natural.

Also try the clip ins for a whole day, this will help you know if you feel comfortable as you may hate how they feel.

8. Shoots of inspirations
Have plenty of pictures ready, photos speak much louder than words, this will allow for no miss comunnication between you and your stylist.

9. Be You
As I mentioned before, you want to be an enhansed version of yourself, do not feel pressured to go for any style that is just not you.

10. Do remember the Groom
Whilse dealing with all of this dont forget about the groom, do make sure he remembers to book his hair appointment, however it is advised that gentlemen have thiers done a week before your big day

Here are some amazing pictures to get you inspired.

Which Shape Gown Should I Wear

Advise on dress shapes to suit all body types.

Hourglass

You have a big chest, big hips, and a thin waist (yes curves in all the right places)

- Wedding Dress Dos: An A-Line dress with a dropped waist will show off your figure; pair it with a sweetheart neckline to show off your chest. Or for something a little more curvaceous, try a fit-and-flare gown like a mermaid or trumpet style

Palazzo

Maggie Sottero

Pnina-Tornai

-Wedding Dress Don'ts: A ball gown or Empire-waist silhouette may make you look disproportioned.

Pear Shape

Just as the fruit, you're small on top and heavy on the bottom.

-Wedding Dress Dos: A basque waist or strapless ball gown will cover your bottom half and put the focus on your better half; an Empire dress will hug the tiniest part of your body and disguise your lower half.
    Kennith Cole
    Amsale
-Wedding Dress Don'ts: A sheath, frankly, will be unflattering. A trumpet- or mermaid-style gown will draw attention to your bottom.

Full Figure

More voluptuous than most, you've got full breasts, a bit of a tummy, and round hips and butt.

-Wedding Dress Dos: Again a Ballgown shape will hide quite a bit, and an A-line silhouette looks great on everyone.

    Caroline Costigliano
    Dior
-Wedding Dress Don'ts: A sheath will make you look heavier than you are; avoid spaghetti straps.

Petite

You've got a tiny frame.

-Wedding Dress Dos: It's best to keep it simple -- when you're small, a big, elaborate gown can sometimes look as if it's wearing you rather than the other way around. A sheath or A-line dress will work well.

Erik Ekroth

Suzanne Neville

-Wedding Dress Don'ts: Almost all silhouettes will flatter your figure, though a big ball gown may overwhelm.

Thin

Short or tall, there's not a whole lot of meat on your bones. You boast that certain kind of ballerina beauty.

-Wedding Dress Dos: A ball gown will make you look like a fairy-tale princess, and a sheath would be perfect for you.

Johanna Hehir

Jenny Packham

-Wedding Dress Don'ts: Almost all silhouettes will flatter your figure, but stay away from portrait, off-the-shoulder, or halter necklines if your concious of your collorbones.

Phew!!! I think I have covered most :) if I have miss anyone out please let me know.

A Bright & Beautiful Beginning..

First blog from Chic-Unique Weddings, how exciting!!!!

My blog will offer advice, inspiration, tips and trends for the chic bride to be.

I myself got married back in June 09, with the stunning Amalfi Coast line as my background, very lucky I know and I will never forget how special I felt on our day.

Planning a wedding abroad did have its bonuses as well as its problems but this is the same for every couple planning a wedding.

I am sure all brides to be have moments when they want to pull their hair out and just scream but those stresses do go away.

I myself had times when I just thought my brain would stop working due to thinking to much, however I do miss it all now, so hence this blog.

I hope you enjoy and please feel free to ask any questions.
